The LED Studio Sponsors Women’s Rugby Team

Another hat tip today – to Swindon, UK-based The LED Studio, which is now a main sponsor for the “scrum-tastic” Newcastle University Women’s Rugby Football Club, with its logo on the uniform strip.

The company – which manufactures and markets LED video wall product – has a direct link to high-level rugby in that country – as its Sports & Leisure Business Develop Manager Kevin Yates played several times as a prop for England’s national team.

”Grassroots rugby is where it all starts. I am extremely proud that we have chosen to support Newcastle Women’s Rugby,” says Yates. “When I started my rugby adventure at Chippenham Rugby Football Club, little did I know it would lead to representing my country. Now, more than ever, it is important that we give back to grassroots sport and give future generations the best possible chance to enjoy sport at all levels.”

This is fun to see, and my gut tells me other companies in this industry are also quietly supporting amateur sports or maybe even – and this would be interesting – have their brand on professional uniforms and gear. I know electronics distribution giant Arrow, for example, has high-level sponsorships of Indy and F1 cars.

What else is out there? Let me know!
