Broadsign, SignageOS Folks’ 24-Hr Ski Efforts This Weekend Raise $31K For Kids’ Causes

December 11, 2023 by Dave Haynes

A big tip of the toque to the folks at Broadsign and SignageOS who competed over the weekend at a 24-hour sports relay challenge in Quebec’s Mont Tremblant ski resort area.

The combined team raised more than $31,000 for child health cause at the event. Teams of 6 to 12 participants relay each other for 24 consecutive hours either skiing, snowboarding, alpine touring, walking, running or  walking & running. As the photo suggests, the digital signage team did downhill skiing.

They even got some industry companies to sponsor their efforts, as you can see on the hockey-style tops they’re wearing post-event.

SignageOS CEO Stan Richter went from Las Vegas to Montreal to compete, and despite jet lag managed to clock a top 5 overall time on a lap.”My legs are on fire, but it was an amazing event,” he related in an email.

Well done! It was at least the 2nd tear for the bunch, having raised $16K last year.

I don’t know all the folks in this pic, but that’s CTO Bryan Mongeau on the left, SVP Joe Cotugno squatting (perhaps miraculously, after all that skiing), and CRO Maarten Dollevoet and Richter on the right.

From Linkedin:

In this year’s race, we finished 21st out of approximately 500 participating teams!

Our team proudly sponsored Belha, a brave 10-year-old in remission after receiving proton radiation and a 6-month course of chemotherapy for a tumour in her cerebellum. Thanks to their diligent efforts and the generous support of the community, we raised an impressive $31K towards pediatric cancer research—surpassing our initial $20K target! 🎉

Best of all, we’re thrilled to share that this year’s event was a record-breaker. Participating teams collectively raised over $6.6M for foundations benefiting children. All funds raised support institutions such as the Fondation Charles-Bruneau , CHU Sainte-Justine, The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation, CHEO, and Fondation Tremblant.

Thanks for posting this, Dave! It’s an incredible event for a vital cause. Broadsign’s generous donors, employees and sponsors contributed to raising over 6.6 M for pediatric cancer! We had some great industry participation this year but we’d definitely welcome more next year!
