New Scala Board Is Unsurprisingly STRATACACHE-Heavy
August 24, 2016 by Dave Haynes
STRATACACHE CEO/Owner Chris Riegel cleared out the board last week when he acquired rival software CMS firm Scala, and the company has now announced a new board, which does includes a Scala veteran. Gerard Bucas was the CEO of Scala from 2002 to 2011, and was as part of that a longtime board member.
Everyone else is, not surprisingly, from STRATACACHE’s universe. Riegel chairs a board that includes:
- Cameron Waldie, the GM and President of Calgary-based Carmanah Signs, a gaming signage company Riegel bought 2-3 years ago;
- Kevin Carbone, CEO of the San Francisco shopper marketing and media firm PRN, which Riegel bought in 2015 when it was IZ-ON (it was originally PRN);
- Kevin McGree, the CFO at Dayton,OH-based STRATACACHE.
“We are excited about what the STRATACACHE acquisition and the new Board of Directors means for Scala,” says Peter Cherna, Chief Product Officer and pretty much last exec standing at the old Scala Inc. “With the resources that STRATACACHE brings, and the business and industry experience of our new Board, Scala now has renewed energy to pursue and grow our market-defining product strategy, leading global brand, and broad partner channel. I’m personally looking forward to doing great things together.”
