In Toronto, At Least, Things Are Hopping

I spent the last three days doing a series of show and tell visits with a vendor to the many digital signage software companies in the greater Toronto area.

Those sessions all tended to to start with a little bit of “How are things going?” chatter, and the message back was uniformly that things were hopping.

Record years. Big national rollouts. Increasingly diverse customer bases. Better educated prospects. Mature, evolved platforms. And so on.

It was good to hear, and I doubt it’s just a Toronto thing. The Canadian dollar tumbling in the last few weeks (with oil prices) has been a bit of a curse on the hardware side, but on the flip side, Canadian guys selling software are looking pretty good against software sold in US dollars.
