The Canadian wing of Samsung has organized a half-day event intended to get digital signage integrators and distributors, as well as web developers, up the curve on its Smart Signage system on chip panel series.

It’s a half-day conference that includes a lunch break and time to dig into what the technology is all about. Samsung at the start of the year debuted a series of flat panel displays that incorporated ARM processors inside the panels, removing the need for an external playback device. It particularly well suited for companies that use HTML as their presentation layer.

The SMARTER SIGNAGE event is Tuesday Nov. 26, from 10 AM to 2 PM, at the Drake Hotel on Queen Street West in Toronto. You should contact your Samsung rep if you are in the area or will be. Failing that, shoot me a note and I will put you in touch. I’m penciled in to do a chat to the crowd about selling digital signage, as Preset did some advisory work with Samsung, on the platform, earlier this year and I developed a pretty good sense of the device and implications.
