Here’s another example of a trading room simulation put together for a university by Rise Display.

Virginia-based Radford University’s finance lab features two interactive touch screens that show indices, currencies, commodities, and bonds, along with tables and charts and financial news updates. Three passive digital displays featuring financial charts, tables, and Reuters news. The room also features a LED stock ticker running the constituents of the S&P 100 and a digital world clock showing current time for popular markets around the globe.

Says associate professor of finance Steven Beach: “It’s incredible how we can now make the instruction dynamic. If I’m talking about the Nikkei index in Japan, I can go over and tap on the screen, look at the currency exchanges as the yen has been depreciating, and then relate that all back together to the returns that students get on their investments here in the U.S.”
