OVAB DOOH summit this fall just a half-day affair

September 4, 2009 by Dave Haynes

Perhaps reflecting the state of the economy, or perhaps that sucking agency people out of their offices for a whole day is just not on … whatever the reason, this year’s OVAB digital out of home summit has been cut in half to a morning affair for this fall.

The event is set for Oct. 28th at the New York Hilton.

Event Sessions

8:00 AM – Registration and Breakfast

8:45 AM – Conference Welcome and OVAB Update, from Suzanne Alecia, CEO, OVAB — Out-of-home Video Advertising Bureau

9:00 AM – Panel Discussion — 360° View of Marketing and Media Today, with Moderator Jonah Bloom, an Editor at Advertising   Age, and panelists Suzanne La Forgia, President of OVAB (who in the space of 15 minutes changes her surname for some reason); Bob Liodice, CEO, Association of National Advertisers (ANA); Mike Wehrs, CEO, Mobile Marketing Association (MMA)

10:00 AM – Keynote Speaker is Bob Garfield, Editor-at-Large of Advertising Age and author of the new book The Chaos Scenario

10:30 AM – Case Studies about Blackberry and VH1

11:30 AM – Ray Rotolo, Sr. VP, Managing Director, Chrysalis, who will talk about … something

It’s all over by noon. Sign up and you get a copy of Garfield’s book thrown in. $99 if you are an AAAA or ANA member, $300 more if you are not.

Last year’s all-day event was put on ny MediaWeek. No sign of its involvement this year.

OVAB could really use someone to clean up its Web presence, which is kinda all over the place, sloppy and has that unwieldy  content management system look about it. Just about zero in terms of agency world vibe, but it is also a very young, probably stretched-thin entity.
