DSE2015: Sharp’s Wraparound LCD Display

sharpround

This is just a concept, and may or may not ever be a full product from Sharp, but it IS very nice. It’s a convex LCD with interior direct light inside a column to illuminate the LCD. The application would be columns in retail or public spaces, replacing printed graphics or flexible LED displays that are much lower resolution.

You could not wrap a concrete support column with this, as the lighting engine needs to be inside, but it could be a column that obscures a structural post or infrastructure run, ie electrical.

No price supplied.

That’s two PR firms today pitching me on “amazing” visual projects & not including any visuals. Totally, completely nuts. - 6 hours ago
