As usual, a candid and deadly accurate assessment of the concept. It is alot closer to hijacking of a cable signal than it is to digital signage. There was an interesting discussion on Nate Nead’s blog here: http://www.digitalsignage.com/blog/2009/05/18/why-tv-tuner-inputs-are-indispensable/. It gets into the legality issue you raise. I won’t repeat my own comments from there, other than to say you and I are kindred spirits, pun intended.
