Amazon Fire TV As Digital Signage Player

As soon as Amazon announced its $99 Fire TV HD media player – a competitor to Apple TVs, Roku boxes and other similar devices – there would have been developers here and there wondering if this tidy, low-cost unit would work as a digital signage player.

Not surprisingly, work is underway. A developer who already has an app that works with Android and Rise Vision’s free CMS has started tinkering, and seen some success, getting the Fire TV running as an Android player.
