DS Talent Pool: Kate Sheehy

September 14, 2010 by Dave Haynes

I don’t know what it is but I have heard from several industry friends the last little bit who are making career shifts.

A little bit, I think, has to do with the state of the industry and how the molasses pace of many deals just wears on people, and on staffing budgets. I also think some companies are re-assessing what they’re doing and how they go at it.

Other folks just want a change.

So, as I have done here and there, I have offered to give some profile to people I’ve met or know well who want it out there that they’re sniffing around for their next challenge. After a long, hard five seconds of thought, I decided to call this feature DS Talent Pool.

First up, Kate Sheehy – based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

She’s been doing biz dev and account management in the field services and deployment area for the last 10 years. She works all the way up the food chain to C-level people, but is also comfy working with the ops folks. She’s freed up come Oct. 1.

I met Kate along with a crowd of people at one of the bars in the Mandalay Bay resort, during one of the trade shows in Lost Wages earlier this year. Interesting background. She has lotsa Irish and Canadian in her, which explains her fun demeanor. She was a schoolteacher in Bermuda and then in Texas. She’s also a mom.
