CETW walking the talk, using customer engagement tools

April 6, 2011 by Dave Haynes

The Customer Engagement Technology World (aka CETW or CET World or the trade show formerly known as KioskCom) is coming up quick.

Not going. Not because I don’t want to, but mostly because flights to San Fran from Toronto are freakin’ expensive for whatever reason, and rooms are definitely not at Lost Wages rates.

The show is April 27-28 at the Moscone North Convention Center in SF Bay.

Along with the exhibit hall and on the floor seminars and demos, there are special events like a dinner cruise around San Francisco’s waters, lotsa end-of-day parties and drinks, and what I think is new, a Mobile Strategies Forum – described as “speed dating”-like roundtables that have several 20-minute interactive discussions about critical mobile strategies, case studies and challenges facing organizations today.

The show is also working with a company called Thumbspeak to get attendee feedback right on the floor. Usage of the app will trigger donations to the Feeding America meal program.

The smartphone app for iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices lets show attendees take surveys about their impressions of CETW. For every survey answered, Thumbspeak and CETW will donate 10 cents to the hunger relief program.

I know CETW is also working with signagelive, Advantech and Samsung to have screens running show content – including social media feeds – around the hall.

Lawrence puts on a solid event and the steady trickle of emails suggests the end-user roster looks pretty strong, as well.
