Projects: Spanish Tile Manufacturer’s Giant LED Lobby Wall In NYC
November 6, 2015 by Dave Haynes
I was walking back from a dinner in New York the other night, and passing byMadison Square Park, saw this very large, very crisp, very beautiful LED wall installation in the lobby of a period office building.
It is the US headquarters building for the Spanish ceramic tile manufacturer PORCELANOSA, and the fine pixel pitch LED wall is 26 feet high. What I saw was purely ambient, branding content – which makes sense as the building is located in the heart of New York’s architecture and design community, and the product is geared to that crew, not the DIY crowd that looks for a deal on tile at Home Depot.
It’s both great and amazing to see this scale of installation designed into a building that isn’t a retail flagship or a giant corporation.
