Why I’m Going To InfoComm: Gajendra Ratnavel, L Squared

June 9, 2015 by Dave Haynes

gajL Squared is a busy digital signage software and solutions provider up my way in the Toronto area.

CEO Gajendra Ratnavel will take a break next week and head down to Orlando for InfoComm. As part of a running series from readers, here’s why this guy  goes …

How many years have you been going to InfoComm?

We have been an attendee for 5 years.

What are you looking for when you go?

Our primary goal is to network with potential new AV partners and reconnect with existing ones. Secondary goal is to explore new technology and study the state of the industry and its direction.

Do you just walk the floor or do you hit any education sessions?

Although the education sessions do seem interesting, we usually spend the time on the floor meeting people, trying out new technology.

What are the biggest changes you’ve seen in the industry, and where do you see things going?

A drop in the cost of hardware is not a surprise, but has been the catalyst for significant lift in the adoption curve of digital signage. The move to the cloud and shift towards software controlled products is also a significant change.

We see the adoption curve will continue to climb sharply with new technology that makes it easier and cheaper for customers to deploy audio visual technology in their workplace, as well as the integration of cellular data into connected AV systems will make scaling projects across large areas less complicated, cheaper and easier to manage.

Do you prefer Orlando or Vegas?

Both good locations, no preference really.
