Projects: The Wow Wall At NYC Saks
May 28, 2015 by Dave Haynes
Here’s a great reference case for how graphics, fixturing and displays can be pulled together to drive a lot more impact in retail than a screen on its own can typically do.
NYC jeweller David Yurman sells a collection at Saks Fifth Avenue, and has had built a custom-fabricated display as a showcase. The 10-foot high David Yurman “WOW Wall” embeds a large flat panel, trimmed out in oiled walnut, in a large black monolith. The retail and store designers, working with New York visual solutions firm Duggal, were going for a museum-like presentation.
The content shows Yurman’s creative process through overlaid video of sketches and silhouettes.
Nicely done.
