The launch content for The LED Billboard That Ate Times Square has been replaced by booked content from Google – which is running a series of long-form pieces and interactive gaming elements all aimed at promoting the latest version of its Android mobile operating system.

It’s hard to find anything official about this, but from what I have gleaned the spots are up through December, and will be interspersed with spots for several nonprofits, including Charity Water and Khan Academy.

Among the things the online and mobile app allows users to do is create their own Android avatar, via something called Androidify. I don’t know what I need this for, but I now have a Dave Android doppelganger.

So proud.
