Projects: Twitter Gets Immersive In Hall Of Mirrors

Delta Air Lines commissioned an experiential marketing agency and a couple of interactive artists to come up with an immersive installation called Social Soul, which ran at last month’s TED conference in beautiful when dry Vancouver, BC.

Developed by MKG, Social Soul was a custom structure people could walk into, having logged in their Twitter handle, to see 360-degree stream of their Twitter feed and those they happen to follow.

The system used – I think – screens on the ceiling and then mirrors on every surface to create the immersive effect. Kinda crazy, but interesting in how screens and media can be applied for something that really is experiential, versus a lot of stuff that is self-declared as experiential but is just kind of briefly interesting and/or curious.
