Popstar Networks Is Now NextDSS

Building my list of companies in this eco-system took me to some research dead-ends with companies, notably the Kansas City-area software company Popstar Networks.

The site was DOA, so I tweeted about wondering what became of the firm.

Turns out last summer they were acquired by a client, Cinema Scene Marketing, and re-branded as NextDSS. They stayed off the radar until DSE, and then made some noise there under the new brand.

The company is still in the Kansas City area, and while having a broad market offer, seems to be doing most of its trade in QSR, hospitality and cinema.

Good to see them around and good to see a change in the brand. Popstar as a signage software brand didn’t make a lot of sense.

The company might want to do a re-direct from the old domain to the new, instead of showing up dead.
