Well Of Course People Buy More Beer When They Get Weather Reports

Spotted by a reader at a convenience store in Gatineau, Quebec (near Ottawa). Anheuser-Busch InBev has had these in Canada for a few years now, but I made the silly assumption they were put in place to move boxes of beer. Apparently the plan is also to give shoppers sports score and tell tell them what the weather is five feet away on the other side of a window.

The digital merchandising plan is solid. The messaging strategy is dopey.

As another reader noted, perhaps the sale price for Bud Light cases might make more sense on the bright, shiny digital screen than scrawled with a Sharpie on a sheet of paper and then taped at knee level on the product.
