ComQi Tweaks Executive Team; Titles
March 28, 2013 by Dave Haynes
There have been all kinds of stories drifting around lately about a big shakeup involving ComQi, but the actual story isn’t all that seismic.
Ajay Chowdhury is shifting from CEO to Executive Chairman of the company (still a full-time gig), while COO/CFO Ifti Ifhar (pictured on right) becomes CEO. Stu Armstrong gets a new handle as Chief Revenue Officer.
“To ensure we can continue to give our global clients the excellent service they expect from us we have put this new structure in place,” says Chowdhury. “I am also very pleased that Ifti Ifhar has taken up the reigns to become Chief Executive of the Group. Ifti brings years of successful experience of building and leading strong executive teams for fast growing global companies. He brings his extensive experience to continue to build ComQi’s business.”
“ComQi is a powerhouse of innovation,” says Ifhar. “We have the right team in the right place to fulfil our strategy of providing our customers with the most flexible cloud based platform and advanced solutions to manage their in-venue digital customer touch points, be they digital signage, mobile, video, web, touch or music.”
Max Stevens-Guille, based pretty much up the street from me, remains as Chief Technology Officer and Stephen Allen, based in London will have a business card that says President of ComQi, EMEA.
Chowdhury gave me a quick call to fill me in, dispelling the chatter that he was leaving. He said the big decision driver on the change was the company’s wish to have him relocate to New York from London. He has teenaged kids – and is very active in London’s performing arts community – which made a big move tough.
