Right Idea, Wrong Tech

Digital wayfinding and meeting room events notifier touchscreens make a lot of sense in places like jumbo convention centers, and Denver’s beautiful facility (boy I wish the LVCC was more like this) has a pile of them all over the place.
They look good, until you get close. Many of the screens were in a burned-in, fuzzy and dull world of pain. I assume they are plasmas and probably the wrong ones (as I understand it, commercial plasmas can handle burn-in pretty well these days). Somebody who planned this in made some serious boo-boos.
Looked awful, which is a shame because the replacement cost would be BIG and from what I saw, the place isn’t exactly turning events away, so the budget is probably not there for an upgrade.
