These Digital Screens Are Just Trash

Walking through a food court a downtown Vancouver office complex, looking for a critical first coffee of the day, I came across a set of back to back digital screens – one of several sets in the place.

All they do, unless things change later in the day, is tell people how to use the recycling bins. Put the paper here. Put the organic waster in this one. And so on.

No ads. No nothing.

Interesting. Thumbs up to whoever decided an instructional video loop was simple way to beat into people’s heads that the different bins are there for reasons, and that the thing didn’t need ads to pay for it or stupid news headlines and weather reports to dress it up.
