Cineplex rolls out multi-screen Lobby Show in its cinemas

October 21, 2011 by Dave Haynes

My friends over at Cineplex Digital Solutions (formerly DDC) have done a lot of great work for clients through the years, so it stands to reason that the solution they put together for the new masters would also be pretty good.

They have rolled out what is called a Lobby Show network in the 130 locations of the Canadian cinema chain. The features include thin bezel video walls, dynamic video posters, guest services displays and digital menu boards (the menu conversion to digital is underway).

The content is created in-house by the Cineplex creative teams, including new live production spots. The programming involves movie trailers, Cineplex promotions, third party ads and entertainment spots. Ads are sold by the Cineplex Media group, which already sells the pre-show.

The back-end scheduling system is BroadSign.

The one shown here is the Queensway Cineplex in Toronto (Etobicoke).
