Smart: Visix launches pitch-free video blog series
September 9, 2011 by Dave Haynes
Visix is a bit like Four Winds Interactive in that it doesn’t make a lot of noise inside the digital signage community, but fairly quietly go about its business, and doing a lot of it.
The Atlanta-area digital signage company — focused heavily on corporate communications and campus — has developed a series of simple but effective videos and posted them on the company YouTube channel. The vids are primers meant for people looking into the technology or those who have things running, but are struggling.
I like these for a few reasons. There’s not shortage of software company blogs out there but I don’t see many video blogs, other than Phil Cohen’s sometimes loopy content series. The content and advice on these is solid, though more visuals and less talking head would be good. And from what I saw, Visix wisely resisted any temptation to turn these into “Just add two cups of Visix” commercials.
About a dozen video posts are up and more are in development.
Check out, as well, the pre-InfoComm video tour of Visix and new products that was presented by company president Sean Matthews. I know versions were developed specifically for some targeted AV press. It’s a smart way to get at time-crunched and information-overloaded, but influential, people like rAVe’s Gary Kayye.
