I think it’s fair to suggest that the creative side of the digital signage business has a long way to go, but it’s also important to note there is some amazing work being done in the space. Consider the huge international award a digital signage project just won

Digital Signage Expo has a short piece up that relays news that the creative team that did the terrific work in the lobby of the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas have won a pair of big awards at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity.

The Digital Kitchen team, based out of Chicago, won the Design Grand Prix – the top honor at the event – and a Gold Lion in the Offline Digital Design category.

If you have not seen the lobby, it is filled with columns of tiled displays that create a digital art gallery. It is like nothing you’ve seen and deserves the accolades it has received. The digital display work in the rest of the casino also goes well off the instruction guide for what content looks like and should be about on a casino floor.

This is a must-see if you go to Las Vegas for a trade show or a bad behavior weekend.
