New Lexus hybrid jumps from old LA hotel walls
April 28, 2011 by Dave Haynes
Here’s video from the recent Earth Day (well, night in this case) promotional launch for the new CT 200h hybrid.
Pearl Media used the old Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel as its canvas, and transformed the building into a live,8,000 sq. ft. 3D building projection. Using long-throw projectors, lighting, sound, shadows and animation mapped to the contours of the building, you can see how various visuals pop from the facade. Some of the 3d projection mapping I have seen has been cool but not all that three-dimensional. This clearly was. Nicely done.
