OVAB's first Middle East meeting this week

April 11, 2011 by Dave Haynes

OVAB Europe is officially expanding its footprint this week with an inaugural event for the Middle East-North Africa region set for Wednesday in Dubai.

If that’s where you are based, the meeting is from 4-6pm at Eclipse, which I assume is a bar or restaurant in the Intercontinental Hotel at Dubai Festival City, a massive shopping mall there.

OVAB says its role in MENA will be offering the insight and tools to build up the Digital OOH business in the region. “We are committed to supporting the development of the digital outdoor media in the region, from a business, best practice and advertiser engagement perspective”, said Dirk Huelsermann, President of OVAB Europe. “To start with, we want to make our event series the platform for regional industry debate and collaboration. We hope to mobilize professionals, bring a renewed focus on DOOH, and we look forward to welcoming new members to OVAB.

I am told the meeting had RSVPs roughly 50% higher than expected so a new, bigger venue had to be arranged.
