iPads clustered to make giant iPhone display

This somehow straddles the line between clever and butt-ugly.

As spotted in Engadget, a promotion at London’s St. Pancras rail station uses 56 iPad’s kinda tiled together to make one big, thick-gridded iPhone screen. The intent is to showcase a new Lara Croft/Tomb Raider iPad game.

I was thinking a single screen would have made more sense, but a little math work tells me the screen would be a 92-inch diagonal number – which probably means a 103-incher … which costs roughly as much as an aircraft carrier (and is equal in weight).
