The Screen Forum professes its Love for Content
December 2, 2010 by Dave Haynes
UK-based The Screen Forum has announced a new creative showcase called LOVE CONTENT, in collaboration with the communications agency SPAFAX.
The program is intended to showcase, promote and celebrate the growing body of good work in the sector.
Open to all – the aim of the Gallery is to provide a platform for creative teams to show not only what is, but what can be done across this exciting new advertising medium. A focal point for the best-of-the-best in this innovative new medium and as an important resource for advertisers, outdoor planners, digital signage network owners and creative agencies.
To ensure the LOVE CONTENT gallery reaches the wides possible audience, it will exist not just online – but also as a traveling showcase with a physical digital screen gallery. This installation, supported by digital media player provider Digital View, will appear at key international industry events and shows.
Already confirmed is a major presence in the Digital Signage Hall at ISE 2011. The ISE show, held 1st-3rd of February in Amsterdam, is Europe’s largest A/V event and annually attracts more than 25,000 visitors flocking to see the latest display and media technology.
Helping The Screen curate the LOVE CONTENT gallery will be a panel of digital out-of-home industry experts under the watchful eye of London’s leading DOOH creative agency Grand Visual. This panel, chaired by Niall McBain, CEO of WPP agency SPAFAX, will work with The Screen to seek out and collate high quality campaign and signage creative from around the digital world – celebrating and recognizing the innovative work at an annual awards ceremony.
‘’I’m delighted to be associated with this exciting initiative,” explains Niall McBain. “The explosive growth of digital screen media around the world has created so many new opportunities for content and story-telling in the campaigns and signage that touch consumers in their daily journeys and activities. The opportunity to showcase the best in ‘Love Content’ will help inspire the youth and talent of this nascent industry”.
The panel members are: Niall McBain (CEO, Spafax), Paul Banham (Digital Creative Director, JWT), Lisa Rokny (Head of Digital Commercial Development, CBS Outdoor), Carolyn Nugent (UK Head of Digital, Kinetic), Mike Blackman (Managing Director, Integrated Systems Events) and Richard Cobbold (Chairman, The Screen & Managing Director of Digital View).
Interesting. I like the idea of taking the gallery on the road to trade shows, as there’s definitely a dearth of good content in many booths. So far, the gallery is pretty skimpy, but it’s Day 1. Anything that raises the level of content quality out there is a good thing.
