Sighting: Wrap-up from last week's SGIA show

October 19, 2010 by Dave Haynes

Not everyone uses Twitter so I thought it might be helpful to point people at a good wrap-up report from last week’s Specialty Graphics and Imaging Association (SGIA) Expo in Lost Wages, which featured for the first time a digital signage area put together by the Digital Screenmedia Association.

Symon’s Steve Gurley does a good rundown of the event and the pros and cons of being there. The short story is most of the print guys had no idea what digital signage was really all about, other than it is a threat. He also suggests the opportunity was rich for entry level SaaS guys, but not so much for the enterprise stuff that is more what Symon and some others are into.

Worth a read  — and Steve does NOT mention smartphones or mobile technology once.  ;-]
