DS Talent Pool: Tracy Bloch

September 28, 2010 by Dave Haynes

I noticed an industry friend put up a tweet the other day to lend a hand to a friend and former colleague looking for her next gig, and I offered to provide some profile in the DS Talent Pool.

Tracy Bloch is a New York-based corporate attorney who knows the OOH business inside and out, having been Associate General Counsel and Director of Business Development for Titan Outdoor LLC, a global outdoor and digital advertising company.

She was in the middle of the launch of Titan’s much-watched transit and station-based digital out of home efforts. Bloch negotiated, reviewed, revised and drafted pretty much all the legal agreements for Titan, from advertising sales through to technology licensing. She also did all the other work that keeps a large company out of legal grief. Bloch says she also “drafted business proposals, expressions of interest for potential acquisitions and responded to public solicitation documents, thereby securing significant contract awards and revenue growth for the company. I fostered partnerships and client relationships over both the short and long term while mitigating against any undue risk. Moreover, I counseled advertising, marketing and management executives on a broad range of business and legal affairs issues.”

Can you tell she’s written a few legal agreements? ;-]

Prior to working at Titan, she had what must have been a fascinating gig work as a Staff Attorney in the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York.

Like content, the legal stuff tends to be something of an after-thought for digital out of home and digital signage companies. With IP infringement disputes starting to come up, and bigger and bigger companies getting into this space, it strikes me that a company with serious growth plans would benefit from experienced in-house advice. I don’t imagine there are a lot of attorneys around who understand DOOH, from so many angles, as Tracy does.
