Saskatchewan wireless retailer lights up one of the better digital signage jobs we've yet seen

Dmitry Sokolov from Ingram Micro’s Canadian office has been doing a few posts for DailyDOOH lately and he had a good one the other day about a wireless retailer, jump.ca, in Saskatchewan.

There are few retail installations, anywhere, that have really seized the opportunity for digital screen installations. I would not have thought one of the better ones out there would be in a shopping mall in downtown Regina, Sask. But it is.

The SaskTel reseller’s store has actually been open for a while and there is a good piece in Saskatchewan Business magazine (if you are reading this far from Canada, Saskatchewan is in the west, and is very, very flat).

The story reports that the new store, the flagship in 14 across the province, has nine touch screen monitors, two interactive Microsoft Surface tables, a “discovery” wall featuring seven 42? LCD displays, five customer-facing point-of-sale monitors and more than 50 live cellular phones and smart phones.

In a word, nice.

This stuff starts to really work when the full customer experience is baked into the design and the digital piece is far more than a screen somewhere in a store that its proponents hope shoppers will look at and use.

The in-store digital effort is also seen as a logical extension and continuation of what’s done online, the story reports, which is all about positive customer experiences.

The screens are driven by Adflow Networks and another company in the Toronto-area, Retail Task Force, provided all the charged and secured handset tethers that can trigger content to screens.

    It looks great BUT….

…can you gage customer experience with this very interactive POP display? How about direct feedback on the interactive displays?
