Last mixer before summer break is Tuesday night

June 15, 2009 by Dave Haynes

Belkin is the sponsor of the last Toronto DS industry mixer before we all head off to our little places in Provence and Umbria for the summer, or in my case, the backyard in Burlington.

But hey, the pool is fixed and my brew on premise neighbor has a batch of faux Hoegarden just about ready for me!!!

The mixer is at the usual spot, the Six Steps restaurant at 55 Colborne in downtown Toronto. Like last month’s event, with Apple, this one is in the big downstairs area. If this is new to you, the event is a mixer, pure and simple. A way to hang out and meet industry people. Around 8:15, we get the snakes out and speak in tongues.

We seem to get more people out to this event when we have sponsors (CANADIANS+FREE DRINKS=CROWD), and the nature of sponsors is that they’d like to get something out of it (silly people). So Belkin will have some of its AV networking gadgets on display, for those people not taking the trip down to Infocomm this week.

I’m going, but not staying … as I have to get up at 4 to get to Buffalo for a 7 AM’er to Orlando.

Thanks as always to Dmitry at Ingram for pulling it together.
