You made good point by referencing google adsense, where your blog in fact is an addressable media vehicle whereby if someone clicks on a sponsored listing, revenue is earned. Performance advertising like this is, in my belief, the future of advertising. This future is probably only 2-3 years away or less. The reason I believe this is because as more and more emerging platforms are becoming prevalent in the advertising industry, return on investment will become more important. Brands only have so much budget they can spend and I further believe that platforms that can uniquely demonstrate return on investment,along with compliance will be successful. Others platforms will slowly diminish over time.
