Turning shoppers into a buncha fruits

June 10, 2008 by Dave Haynes

The UK-based Daily DOOH blog has a Canuck contributor who picks up on stuff happening over here, including things I flat miss – like a clever digital poster for SunRype juices.

An interactive ‘fruit mirror’ features a camera and specially designed graphics program that instantly animates people or objects onto a 62’’ LCD screen as ‘fruitified’ images. When someone stands in front of the mirror, he or she is reflected back as a mix of the fruit that make up Sun-Rype juices.

The installation is being tested in some Toronto malls but it looks like the execution comes out of agency Tribal DDB’s Vancouver operations.

I’ve not seen it but it looks very clever, and more importantly, engaging.
