DRE now DSE, heads back downtown

The Digital Retailing Expo held each May in Chicago will be known now as the Digital Signage Expo, further evidence that people are giving up on more impressive handles for the industry, and just using what’s most common.

The show is also heading back to the Navy Pier trade show site on the Lake Michigan waterfront – a happy return from the soulless office and hotel park atmosphere of last year’s show, out by O’Hare airport. Going to Chicago and then being stranded an $80 cab ride away from great food and music was a little painful last year.

The show will also have a sister event now, called the Interactive Technology Expo.

The most interesting speaker on the list – someone from Google, which you may have read has been chasing some patents in this space.

The show website still says the event is in Rosemont, but digging around confirmed the switch in a press release.
