DeepDocs
DeepDocs are white label white papers that have NOT been written in a way that makes the sponsor of the paper happy. They go deep, but they don’t lead you to certain conclusions based on marketing needs. These are independent pieces, written by me.
To be clear, there are white papers out there – sponsored by technology companies – that do a pretty nice job of giving readers an overview of the subject matter. They are often worthwhile reads, and I have in fact written a number of them on behalf of clients.
But no matter how good and seemingly free of influence, that influence nonetheless exists in those pieces. So I started thinking it would be cool to have a trove of white papers that didn’t come with baggage.
I don’t particularly like the term white paper because it is one of those over-used descriptions everyone interprets differently. So I am calling these DeepDocs – because the idea is to take a deep dive on subjects that interest me and might help you out.
The plan IS to get these DeepDocs sponsored over time. I have been writing for more than four years and it was time to start making a buck or two off sixteen:nine, but on my terms. I’ve turned down advertising in the past because I didn’t want to feel like I was in anyone’s pocket. These DeepDocs will get written without sponsors in mind, but once up, they’ll be available.
There is as much or more currency, I believe, being associated with useful information than there is sponsoring material that makes people wonder, “Hmmmm…”
