Action Flick Trailer Gets Debut Across 22 Giant LED Boards In Times Square

December 12, 2016 by Dave Haynes

The producers behind The Fate of the Furious – which I think is a chick flick about annoyed shoppers and a woman who controls the Christmas shopping line-up outside of a Kate Spade outlet store – did a massive takeover last night of many of the LED boards in Times Squares to hype the movie and the trailer.

The thing was sync’d up between a pre-game bit on Sunday Night Football, a live event with some of the stars (including Vin Diesel and The Rock – which makes me question my understanding of the plot), and content running across 22 LED screens around Times Square.

Kinetic Worldwide, the WPP-owned out-of-home agency that coordinated this all for NBC Universal, says this is a first of a kind domination campaign in Times Square.

Interesting to see what a domination campaign looks like, and to market an action trailer on a screen the size of a football field, instead of the 5-inch smartphone screen most fans will use to see the trailer.
