The annual Xlab conference is next week in New York, and the Society for Experiential Graphic Design people behind it are doing a last minute push to gets bums in all the seats at the theatre down in Chelsea where it’s run.

There are tours and a mixer on Thursday and the big conference is Friday, with a series of crazily smart and inventive people talking about their visual projects in public and commercial spaces. I moderated panels the last coupla years, and this year the format has shifted to five focused sessions and no panels (I think).

The final ticket push involves a Buy One Get One free “BOGO” deal, as in buy a seat and bring a friend or colleague to Xlab 2016 for free.

Says SEGD in its pitch:

The two of you will meet incredible speakers, study the most inspiring projects, go on exclusive tours and connect with designers and makers from around the world at this exciting two-day event focused on technology, design and the future of experiences. (VR, smart cities and spaces, next-gen interaction, new materials and more!)

Call SEGD to register and add your plus 1!  T.1(202) 638-5555

Good event. If your gig involves thinking about or doing large digital canvases or interactive, this event exposes you to some of the smartest people active in experiential design in North America. Can’t make it this year, though I’m jumping on one of the pre-conference lab tours before bolting to JFK.
