Here’s a nice example of how to present real-time data in a visually interesting way.

This is the elevator lobby of financial news giant Bloomberg’s new Washington, DC offices – the entrance flanked by a pair of video walls. The office is a hub for about 250 staff in the US capitol.

Montreal’s Telecine, which has worked for years with Bloomberg on large format digital signage projects in its offices, Launched in June, says it collaborated with Bloomberg and the San Francisco graphic design firm Volume Inc. to create visuals “that embody the local flavor of the specific graphic identity and architectural design intended for the space, with references to the global Bloomberg brand.”

Why this works? Big visuals. Minimalist design. No clutter. Shifting positions of the data.

Very nice.
