Not sure what’s up, but lately I’ve been involved in a string of webinars, helping put various companies and organizations.  There are at least two more coming up.

The Digital Signage Federation, which I’ve finally joined, has a June 15 “Hangout” session on the Basic Content Do’s & Don’ts for Digital Signage, in which I’m guessing I’ll be talking more about the Don’ts.

“Having an articulated content strategy is essential for a successful digital signage communications network, which not only provides standards and guidance for those within the organization who will be contributing content, but also helps to ensure continuity in appearance,” says Rise Vision‘s Ryan Cahoy, the DSF’s Education Committee co-chair and organizer of the DSF’s webinar series. “However, before developing such a strategy, it is important to agree on the purpose of the communication and define the viewing audiences.”

Indeed.

The Hangouts are 45-minute panel discussions using Google’s Hangout platform, with a moderator and a panel of three or four industry professionals. In this case, there are a couple of professionals – Jim Nista, CEO of Insteo and Rob Adams, Director of Product, Technical Operations & Marketing at  Omnivex – and me.

The panel, says a press release, will talk over things like:

Both DSF members and non-members may join these, or any of the DSF’s scheduled Hangout conversations for free – but registration is required and can be accessed on the “DSF Event Web Page” of the DSF website at http://www.digitalsignagefederation.org/event-2175257

I’m doing a webinar later in the month with Omnivex – a June 21 session with Jeff Collard on the many ways to use data. Details to follow.

And I’m working with Canonical – the Ubuntu guys – on a follow-up, signage-focused session, on the heels of one this week about Raspberry Pi. No firm details on that yet.
