The UK-based CMS software firm ONELAN has joined the ranks of companies that have developed to and support System on Chip (SOC) all in one commercial display panels.

ONELAN has announced its CMS 3.0 solution can be installed on and run on either a Samsung Smart Signage display or LG’s webOS platform. The company also says these so-called smart displays work happily in a mixed network with tablets and standalone players running its software.

The pitch, as with other software companies that have also developed to SOC displays, is simpler installations, with no external player and reduced cabling, as well as reduced total cost of ownership for the end user.

I don’t think I’ve seen ONELAN at North America trade shows (their product has been re-sold by the distribution firm Black Box as as iCompel), but the UK firm will be at InfoComm next week in Las Vegas, at booth N2563.
