Luxury Auto Display Wins Planar’s OLED Clear Concept Prize

At last fall’s SEGD xlab event in New York, Jennifer Davis from Planar announced a contest aimed at generating great concept uses for transparent OLED screens – technology Planar had just started showing off.

A few months later, Planar announced today the winner of the Clear Concept Award – Fivestone Studios, a creative services agency based in Nashville, Tenn. The company did a very nice luxury show room/auto show concept that lets users explore specific features of a luxury vehicle stationed behind a tiled OLED display wall.

Planar Systems will present the award to Fivestone during an SEGD sponsored keynote luncheon at DSE 2016 on March 17, 2016. The panel will discuss the winning design, as well as trends in digital signage.  The prize is the trip to Las Vegas, and I THINK the studio also gets one of those 55-inch OLEDs, which are worth something like $15K.
