Industry Weapon Says It’s Now Driving Signage On Chromeboxes

industry weapon logoPittsburgh’s Industry Weapon has formally joined the list of companies that have developed applications to work with Google ChromeOS-driven Chromeboxes and all-in-one Chromebases.

The company, known for many years as a top Cisco partner, says the devices will work with its SaaS-based CMS platform, called CommandCenterHD.

One of the big attractions to ChromeOS, the company says in a press release, is the ability to configure the boxes to Industry Weapon specs without requiring traditional device imaging. “We’re excited about our new relationship with Google. Chrome Devices are affordable, have a small form factor, and take no time to get content up and running,” says CIO William Chufo.

The support works both for consumer-grade and the more recent commercial-grade Chromebox on the market, as well as the mega-tablet Chromebases that Aopen markets.

The company says Chrome devices “hit a sweet spot in the digital signage market, as media players become less expensive and smaller in build. Its lightweight, compact size makes it more versatile than its larger counterparts. However, both size and price have no effect on its capabilities.”

The new set-up will work the same as with other devices running off CommandCenterHD, which Industry Weapon says “differentiates itself by delivering unparalleled security features, backed by PCI compliancy and SOC 2 Auditing standards.”

Chrome devices running Industry Weapon and shipped by the company will include Google’s Chrome management console, cloud-based device management capabilities that business users subscribe to for $50/year or $150 perpetual.

The Google-Industry Weapon arrangement will de showcased on a joint webinar on October 28th at 2 pm Eastern Time. You can register to attend the webinar here.

The collaboration isn’t all that new in most respects, as Industry Weapon was among the small crowd of vendors with micro-stands at the Google at DSE in March.
