I checked in with Four Winds Interactive to ask how things are going with plans for the conference the software company is running next month in the company’s hometown city, Denver.

Called Forward – the Digital Experience Conference, the event is designed to educate and inspire people who are grappling with the explosion of digital content and tech out there, and how to apply it effectively to their organizations. Instead of the usual indoctrination sessions by sales, product and support managers, FWI has put together an agenda with a bunch of outside speakers, there to provide ideas and insights.

The event is aimed at executives, but FWI says industry leaders, students, customers and prospective customers, media and partners are all invited.

Forward is at the Colorado Convention Center, in Denver, on Oct. 21-23.  It starts Wednesday evening with an opening reception at Four Winds’ new downtown headquarters, what the company is calling its Workplace of the Future. The new office tower digs (FWI is moving from from a very cool but very jammed historic building on the edge of downtown) include a Customer Experience Center that sports an 80-foot digital wall, set up to showcase hardware and apps.

Things really get going on Oct. 22nd, the start of a day and half of what looks to be a pretty diverse agenda.

Among the speakers:

FWI has asked me to lead/referee a couple of sessions, including a breakfast event. That will be fun because I am SUCH a morning person. Maybe coffee will help …

The agenda carries on through the 22nd, and wraps midday on the 23rd – on a Friday. So attendees can either head for the airport, or more rationally, head for the mountains for the weekend.

Forward costs $895, and that bakes in that welcome reception, all the conference sessions, a big nighttime mixer, and all meals and ground transport.

I traded emails with Leah Saugen, who has the crazy job of managing all the events FW does in a year (the company hits a LOT of trade shows), and she said registrations are going well, but they still have room for more.
