InfoComm is just a few sleeps away and I suspect some of the tech who pull the booths together are already sweating it out down in Orlando.

Toronto-based touchscreen specialists Baanto has a crew going down, and you’ll find the company at booth 5742. Here’s why John La, the company’s Director, Product Marketing, says attendees should find their way over to Baanto’s piece of exhibit hall carpet next week.

1 -Why do people going to InfoComm need to put your company on their Must See list of booths?

We are the innovators of ShadowSense touch technology, the industry leading solution for high performance and reliable touch implementations. ShadowSense is a patented optical position sensing technology that uses an object’s shadow to determine its position, shape and size. It’s a perimeter-based solution that has been integrated with displays from leading manufacturers worldwide.

This year at InfoComm we are excited to launch several key products for the very first time. Anyone who is interested in adding interactivity to digital signage, big or small, should definitely come see what we have to reveal at the show.

We’ll also be exhibiting a boardroom/classroom solution that uses a ShadowSense touchscreen with off-the-shelf productivity software to demonstrate our unique ability to differentiate between a finger, a stylus and an eraser.

Another popular draw to our booth is international artist Edo Draaijer, who will be painting on a ShadowSense powered touchscreen using regular paintbrushes. This is something that is sure to impress anyone that comes by!

2 – What’s your big marketing message to attendees, and what’s it all about?

Touch is everywhere. With the proliferation of smartphones and tablets, everyone expects every display to be a touchscreen. ShadowSense provides a cost-effective solution that doesn’t sacrifice on performance, working with all forms and sizes of touch objects, and in extreme conditions such as rain and direct sunlight. It’s also highly scalable, available in sizes from 8” to over 267”.

If you are considering implementing touch in your application then you should definitely explore the many benefits of ShadowSense.

3 – What’s the ideal profile of attendees walking into your booth?

Anyone who needs a high performance, reliable and customizable touch solution. Whether they’re an OEM display manufacturer, an integrator or an end-user; if they’re looking to add an element of touch to their digital signage, conference room, classroom, broadcasting, stadium or military application, then we want to talk to them.

4 – How has the digital signage business changed for your company in the past 12-24 months, if it has?

Many of the recent trends in digital signage have led people and businesses to pay closer attention to Baanto since our technology is perfectly aligned with these trends. Obviously, we benefit from the increase in interactive digital signage with our class leading touch technology, but other trends like 4K are also shinning the spotlight on ShadowSense, since we support 4K touch resolution natively.

Another trend is the increasing size of digital signage installations. As retailers and the like gravitate to larger 84” or 98” displays and massive video walls composed of ultra thin bezel displays, they’ll find that our solutions are unmatched in their ability to scale cost-effectively, without sacrificing on performance.

5 – Any advice for first-time attendees?

Plan ahead and keep your head up. Put together an itinerary to make sure you see all of the companies or technologies that you want to visit, but while you’re wandering the hallways looking for them, keep your eyes peeled for all of the interesting things that are being shown. Companies are coming up with unique solutions to everyday pain points and you certainly don’t want to miss them. And of course, make sure to come visit the Baanto booth at 5742!
