BroadSign has announced it waved frantically from the burb and got Metropolis Digital Media Ltd to pull over and pick up the company’s software for a media network running on London’s licensed black taxis.

The deal involves 500 taxi-toppers to start, and will scale up from there. The set-up is a pair of 1920 x 440 LCD panels that are daylight-readable.

Metropolis will run six slots of 10 seconds each – or 60 seconds, using my remarkable command of advanced mathematics.

Danny Faughnan, Founder and CEO at Metropolis Digital Media, says he went with BroadSign because of the ad-centric fit with his needs for targeting media on a wide range of variable data attributes, like ge0-location.

Another company, BrightMove, also has taxi-toppers in London, but it looks like they area using LED panels, which would be lower rez (if that matters).
