Best Preset DSE Mixer Yet

We actually counted bodies and had 287 folks out last night for the annual Preset Group Mixer in Las Vegas. That was out of 350 or so registrations, so the no-show number was like in past years below 20 per cent.

I’m biased, but I think it went off well. That’s certainly what I heard from the people I chatted with at the venue – The Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip. The place looked great, and was roomy enough to allow some 300 people elbow room. We could have easily had another 100 people, but at some point it just all gets too big.

This was the fifth mixer and 4th under the Preset banner. We’ve moved every year, but I think we may well

have a home.

A huge plus this year was having a seasoned event planner run the day and particularly check-in. Last year was a bit chaotic. This year, we were good to go 45 minutes before the first people were checking in. As always, the early ones were my fellow Canadians – ready for anything involving cocktails and a few laughs.

It was great to catch up with a pile of industry friends, and make some new ones. I will put up pictures at some point over the next couple of days.

Thanks to my event team, including my lovely and much younger looking wife (I got a lot of “How does that work???” comments), the Hard Rock staff, and the sponsors.

Enjoy the show.
