Smart Network's Marketing Director Talking Results At NRF

December 30, 2010 by Dave Haynes

Pete LaFond, the director of marketing for Walmart’s Smart Network, is slotted to do a 45-minute session on Jan. 10th at the National Retail Federation’s annual expo in New York.

Retail Info Systems News says he will explain how in-store digital marketing delivers results for both the world’s largest retailer and major CPG manufacturers. He will discuss how digital signage can steer shoppers to deepen their engagement through mobile integration and in-store digital marketing best practices. LaFond will also share actual sales gains from Walmart’s use of optimization and technology that maximizes sales by re-targeting campaigns that are already “in flight.”

The session is Monday, 1/10/2011, 1 PM-1:45 PM, Room Pavilion Stage, Expo Hall

Tons of people making the case for the impact of digital in-store use the Smart Network’s numbers dribbled out here and there in the past year or so. But not everyone agrees they are relevant, notably retail geek Jason Goldberg.

I’m not at NRF this year – gig in a much warmer (I hope) spot that week. So hopefully someone in the sector carves out time to catch the session and pass on observations. There’s a guest post slot available, for sure.
