Oh my. Did they do any customer research on this one? That’s not a cheap sign. Also, this begs for the argument that the physical space around a DS is just as important. “Metric Tons Today.” huh? I bet you could create a story with visuals and get rid of almost all the copy.

Recently I was in a discussion and learned that most people do not relate to giant numbers. What people relate to are numbers THEY can affect. Instead of saying “The U.S. contributed 12 gazillion tons to the atmosphere,” you might say “Today you contributed 400 pounds of carbon to the atmosphere. Yes. You.”
